THE FOURTH PAINTING

Beginning this landscape painting I Began mixing. Trying to make a different type of Sky one that I have not done in most of my other paintings so I thought to myself blue + red equals purple. Starting with a bit of wash.

As I went on applying purple colour to form the sky why I applied a deeper mix of blue to make the end of the sky appear darker.

Moving further down I applied white to make the pigment to be a bit lighter giving it shallow ground. Tried to omit the little space created for moon, the sea and the land

As I would like to make my paintings bright so I decided how to make my floating land and to have a green grass . With a tint of blue I applied wash at the bottom area closer to the viewers eye.

I did not know what colours to make my moon. Although, it was very close so so it would mean it needed to be dark and not too bright. This was just my way of thinking to make it it a proportional painting.

Indeed the decision of the moon was quite abstract and I will say it was a dream world because of that moon. Soon after I start blending to make it it even.

As I grew satisfied with the blending of the moon. I went on to the sea, using a technique of stippling. It wasn't coming out the way I wanted, but along the way everything became better as I began blending.

Furthermore I concentrated on the the little breakages that formed The Rising of the the Earth. I began to give detail to  the cracks beneath distinguishing how they look with the precise blend.

Then I decided to go back to my my glass to make it more realistic and detailed.

By the time I was done. I Began to sketch out my tree like object to determine how it would fit in my painting.Giving detail to the tree was indeed remarkable, as I really did watch how it transformed.

Finally I worked on the Leaves using a stippling effect I made leaves appear differently unlike my previous paintings.

I also made use of different pigments to blend in the colours these give the tree a good texture like feeling.

The most interesting part was when i got to sprinkle the white paint all over the purple sky to give it a dreamy effect. Then I went further to detail the tree trunks and also the tree branches that spread around the leaves.

At the end of it all I began using my my brush to make white marks all over the sky, by giving it a dream effect. I must admit this was indeed the most interesting part to me me because I was able to act freely and I enjoyed every single moment.

THE JADED

In the end and I decided to name this 'jaded' as it would seem that, this is actually another painting similar to that of my childhood painting I did once before and they have a little bit of of connection.
It was indeed a memorable painting.

  1. You could go further with your reflection on this painting - what do you think of the outcome, was it successful, was it what you aimed for at the beginning etc?
