Art portfolio (The First painting reflection)
REFLECTION
Using two mediums of painting i was able to apply a wash technique and create this glowing background which gives the moon and that of the floating land a boosting effect. It was a bit difficult as i came up with a name for the painting as "The Floating Land" this painting was a true inspiration of what i felt when listening to "circles" by Post Malone. A break down of how the world has become and needs a new change to make life whole again.

ARTIST RESEARCH
PETER DOIG
He is a Scottish artist, who is celebrated as one of the most important painters working today. His paintings are characterized by their equal focus on both landscapes and figures, involving and displaying art historical and personal referenceshis work with distinctive compositions (Doig, 2020).
FIG: 2 Milky Way
In this beautiful artwork, Doig pinpoints stars by sprinking a bit of white dots picturing a black and blue skyscape for a background. This is a similar technique i learnt and applied to my work in Fig 1, to give it a dreamy effect of the galaxy.
The style of his trees resembling a stretching glowing creature, similar to that of an alien as they appear very vibrant. Giving it a reflection on the dark blue sea. Reflected beneath there lies a very tiny detailed work of how he captures a girl in a canoe.
FIG: 3 (Canoe-Lake by Peter Doig on artnet, 2020)
In this painting, similar to that of the Fig 2 painting, Doig makes use of reflection to capture the flow of the green canoe floating on a yellow lake. The colours used by him are quite similar to acid (Doig, 2020). A person seems to be lying in the boat looking helpless, as her hand streches and enters into the water.
Indeed canoes have been used to symbolize Doig's childhood home in Canada (Doig, 2020). Alongside Doig also creates depths and a little density. He said: "Because you think of floating. There is a lot more below"(Doig, 2020). The best part of it all that i really admired was the vivid brush strokes he used in creating the tall grsses behind appearing vibrant. This technique was also what i applied to the structure of the floating land, in Fig 1. It shows the roughness of how the earth surfce looks when being pulled out from the ground.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, i was really inspired by the progress of this work because it was a vivid imagei well imagined. A good variation to back me up and place me on the right track which has been very helpful learning a new techniques. One of this technique is now a common thing that i have used when painting my other artpieces giving it a dreamy effect.PICTURE REFERENCE

This is much better analysis of another artists work, but please be careful about paraphrasing - make sure you use your own words. There are stronger links now to your own work and it is easier to see how Doig's work has been an influence on your work in terms of techniques and even subject matter.
