portrait painting (fine art work)

Here in this video I am showing my process on how I made a portrait work with no digital effect attached This is only just the first process of how i began whe creating my painted portrait initially.

In this first video i started with the eye. Drawing this was very interesting and also was quicker than i expected. In the first video i think it would have have been best if i started with the face structure, to make my work much faster.

Next, i continued with the the face. With my smudging technique, i was began bluring and bending to create that 2 dimensional persective. As that went on, I made use of the hatching technique to bring out the hair strands, and there it was a beautiful sketch. By the time I was done my work, it was as beautiful i could have imagined, it was truly one of my best works.

At some point, i became upsessed with the use of bluring this was what made my image come out much faster, because i was abe to re-edit by erasing. Critically analasing this i would say it was a very good start but there is always room for improvement in the shading work.

Above all, when i look bac to reflect on my drawings i discovered i stil need need to work on my shading technique to create a more realistic image this i would need to improve on.

  1. Using video is a good way of showing process, but you need to show more critical analysis of the works on completion - look at the perspective, proportion, range of tone and application of the techniques. Showing the reference photo would allow you to really see the areas that need improving.
